The Moss Park Coalition launched a community survey to hear directly from residents as gentrification and development reshape the neighborhood. Led by local organizer David Anderson and supported by Ahsen Bhatti, the survey gathered 87 voices at events throughout 2024–2025.
Findings reveal urgent needs: nearly 80% of residents identified affordable housing as their top concern, followed by tenant protections, food access, safety, and job opportunities. Many shared challenges with rising rents, unstable leases, poor housing conditions, and limited knowledge of tenant rights.
Frustration with the Ontario Line project is also high—residents say local hiring promises remain unfulfilled, and newcomers face barriers due to unrecognized credentials.
This survey is a call to action. While grassroots efforts offer hope, lasting change requires community-driven solutions.
Residents deserve a voice in shaping the future of Moss Park.
